Rouse Hill Baptist Church was established in 2019 and is a member of the Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT. The church is the result of a merger between Northwest Community Baptist Church, established in 1988, and Rouse Hill Community Baptist Church, established in 2000. The two churches merged when the purchase of a property in the local area led to discussions between the two congregations which resulted in the decision that they could do greater things for the Kingdom of God as one church rather than as two.
Both Rouse Hill and Northwest Community Baptist Churches were birthed by Rob and Sue Tanner with Northwest being rebirthed from an earlier church plant by Peter Harvey. With this common ancestry, there were many similarities in practice and belief which gave the eventual merger of the churches great traction. The merger has been a great success and witness to the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Both congregations have embraced each other and look forward to many happy years of ministry together to their community.
The congregation is evangelical with a profound commitment to social justice, mercy, and personal and congregational humility before God and others. It is missional locally in Rouse Hill, Australia, and internationally.
